Yuhnke works as a weekday morning anchor and technology reporter for FOX 31. His passion for journalism blossomed as a child, driving his parents crazy with a Mr. Microphone. In high school, he took charge of the PA system during morning announcements and performed in the school’s theatre, which further fueled his passion for journalism. He is really passionate about Technology and refers to himself as a tech geek. In this capacity, he hosts a segment on FOX31 Morning News called the “Tech Junkie.”
Yuhnke’s career started in Lansing, Michigan, where he worked for FOX 47 WSYM. He began his tenure at FOX 47 as a weekend reporter and got promoted to the main reporter, Monday through Friday, eventually becoming the weekend anchor. While still in Michigan, he worked at WJRT ABC 12 in Flint as a weekend morning anchor and reporter.
Following his time in Michigan, Yuhnke relocated to Salt Lake City, where he worked as a morning anchor and technology reporter for KSTU FOX 3 News. After 3 years in Salt Lake City, he moved to Phoenix and worked as a morning anchor and technology reporter at KNXV ABC 15 News.
Yuhnke has covered numerous stories throughout his career that spans more than 15 years. Some of his most memorable stories includes traveling to the East Coast to broadcast Hurricane Sandy, the day the northeast went dark in 2003, and when six miners got trapped in a mine in Utah. He has won several awards and honors, including an Emmy Award for breaking news coverage in 2009 and an Emmy nomination for the best anchor in Denver in 2012.
