Jones works as a weekend anchor for CBS 4 Miami. In this role, she delivers dynamic stories and in-depth reports to South Florida audiences. Since joining the station, she has become a trusted face in the community, providing impactful news stories and anchoring broadcasts during crucial evening broadcasts. She has a passion for shedding light on the stories that matter most to people and communities.
Before her tenure in Miami, Jones spent a little over 2 years as an anchor and reporter for WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island. She also spent 3 years as a weekend anchor and reporter in West Monroe, Louisiana. While in the Northeast, she provided coverage for various stories, including weather events, breaking news, local politics, and community-driven features.
Jones has notably received a couple of awards, including an Emmy Award for her report on the Florida Panthers’ historic Stanley Cup win in 2024. In addition, she earned two Edward R. Murrow Awards for her reports on a barricade situation with the Providence Police and her survey of the Underground Railroad in Rhode Island.
Jones has received two Emmy nominations for her broadcasts of a mass shooting in Providence and her special report, “Cory’s Cause,” which shed light on a local athlete’s inspiring journey from addiction to advocacy. While in Louisiana, she earned two Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Awards in 2020. Also, she extensively broadcast the 2019 governor’s race, including live coverage of President Donald Trump’s visit to the state and election night as incumbent Governor John Bel Edwards clinched re-election.
Jones is deeply devoted to community-focused journalism. In this capacity, she has been a moderator for important panels about the effects of women in economics, politics, and culture, as well as topics surrounding equity and social justice. Moreover, she has been an MC for many events, engaging with communities across Rhode Island, South Florida, and Louisiana.
