Subsequently, he worked for WTEN and FOX23 in Albany, and WRNN in the Hudson Valley as an anchor and reporter.

Floyd has spent over four decades in the journalism industry. During this time, he has covered every story possible and has risen to prominence for his investigative reports on government accountability stories at the NYS Capitol. His “You Paid For It” reports have won him four Edward R. Murrow Awards, four New York Emmy Awards, and a couple of awards from the NYS Broadcasters Association and Associated Press. In 2025, he received 11 New York Emmy nominations, including nine for “You Paid For It,” as well as nominations for Best News Anchor and Best News Commentator.

Floyd has received multiple awards for his charity work and can frequently be found emceeing a local event on Friday or Saturday nights. He has also gone on assignments abroad, including reporting on the death of Princess Diana in 1997 and the 1990 Operation Desert Shield.
