Huff works for NBC 4 New York as the well-known chief meteorologist delivering weather reports for the station’s 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts. She began working on air as a meteorologist in 1987.

Janice worked as a weekend meteorologist for WTVC, an ABC station in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from 1982–1983. She worked as a meteorologist and science reporter at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia, in 1983.
The American Meteorological Society awarded Janice its Seal of Approval for Television Weathercasting in 1985.

Janice started working as an on-air meteorologist at KSDK in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1987, where she also covered the Crystal Apple Awards.

She moved on to the San Francisco NBC station KRON in April 1991, where she worked as an on-air meteorologist and presented “Bay Area’s Best Bets.” Huff was honored as a “Clean Air Hero” by the American Lung Association while she worked at KRON for her efforts to promote healthier lungs and better air.

Janice joined WNBC in January 1995 as “Today in New York,” “News Channel 4″‘s weekend meteorologist at 6 and 11 p.m. Janice added “Live at Five” to her responsibilities in 2001. She is the host of “Wednesday’s Child,” a weekly adoption segment that airs on “News 4 You” on Wednesdays and once more on “Sunday Today in New York.”

Janice joined Weekend Today as a meteorologist in 1995. For eight years, she alternated between appearing on Saturdays and Sundays before limiting her appearances to Sundays solely in 2009. After 16 years, Huff quit “Weekend Today” on April 30, 2012.

At the 2012 Court Appointed Special Advocates Spring Reception (CASA-NYC), Huff was commended for her commitment to foster care children.”Huff works with CASA-NYC to ensure that foster children are placed in secure, long-term families in order to safeguard their needs and overall well-being.

A St. Louis Emmy Award for “Best Weathercaster” in 1988, the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval for Television Weather casting in 1985, the Bronx Community College’s 1995 “Kaleidoscope Award” for excellence in television meteorology, and other professional honors.
