After taking some time off to concentrate on her family, Julie is happy to be back at KJRH. She currently hosts and reports for 2 News Oklahoma Weekend Today, a program she holds dear to her heart. She was a founding member of the group that developed and introduced the weekend morning newscast in 2003. It was the only Saturday morning news available in Green Country at the time.
Julie has experience working as a producer, reporter, anchor, and meteorologist for TV stations all around the nation. She started her career with WCBS-TV’s investigative and consumer team in New York City. Before relocating to Tulsa for her job at KJRH, Julie had worked at WCTI, WXII, and WBOY.
Julie is a committed member of the community who frequently emcees local events.
She performs so many volunteer activities in fact that she was recognized for her outstanding community service with the Scripps-Howard William Burleigh Award. Furthermore has been included in both the Oklahoma Magazine and Tulsa Business Journal lists of the top “40 under 40” in the state. The American Red Cross and the city of Muskogee have both recognized Julie as an Everyday Hero and an honorary Okie from Muskogee, respectively.

Chin was reporting about NASA’s since-canceled Artemis I launch on KJRH-TV in Tulsa on Saturday morning when she appeared to be lost for words and began repeating herself. She struggled for a little while before apologizing to the audience and saying;
“I’m sorry, something is going on with me this morning,” before turning the broadcast over to a meteorologist for a weather update. Chin was transferred to the hospital where she stayed several days after her coworkers called 911.
