Amenta is currently working for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey as a director of development since September 2024. Prior to this, Amenta worked at WPXI as a news anchor from August 2013 to April 2024.
During her time at WPXI, Amenta broadcast major breaking news such as the Franklin Regional High School stabbings, the tragic loss of local police officers, the “Tree of Life” synagogue shooting, and the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. She reported live from major events, including the 2016 Presidential debates, the 2016 Republican National Convention, and the 2017 Penguins’ Stanley Cup in Nashville.
The local health system selected Amenta to report sensitive and highly technical topics. Further, she gained coverage access to the PA State Police Academy and did a three-part investigation that put a scam artist behind bars.
Ameta moderated political debates such as the 2020 Congressional debate “Lamb vs. Parnell,” and the 2018 PA Lt. Governor debate “Fetterman vs. Bartos.” During the 2016 and 2017 Penguins’ Stanley Cup championship parades, Ameta hosted coverage.
Before joining WPXI in August 2013, Amenta worked as a news anchor for News Channel 8/WJLA-ABC. She covered major breaking news such as Osama bin Laden’s death, the Boston Marathon manhunt, and the Colorado movie theater shooting. She changed the station’s format of the four-hour morning newscast and how they reached viewers on social media.

She no longer works for WPXI, this is because her contract, which was due to July, was not renewed, possibly because of budget cuts. Scott Trabat, the director of WPXI News responded to the queries of Amenta’s departure via email. Further, she stated in a social media post that she is leaving Pittsburgh.
