Tomazic serves as a morning reporter for Channel 11. Throughout her career, she has been nominated for the Southeast Emmy Award and has received Wisconsin Broadcasters Association honors for feature storytelling and breaking news.
Tomazic relocated “south” from Milwaukee, with the expectation that Pittsburgh winters aren’t quite as cold, and was well aware that it wasn’t as snowy as Cleveland, where she grew up. Her love for storytelling bloomed while in high school in Cleveland.
Tomazic’s first occupation was at WTAP as a morning/noon anchor and producer in Parkersburg, West Virginia. From there, she moved to a warmer environment in Columbia, South Carolina, where she worked at WLTX as a weekend anchor and a crime stopper. Subsequently, she returned to Milwaukee and joined WDJT as a weekend reporter. Later on, she was promoted to morning and noon anchor. She also reported a weekly segment called “Making Milwaukee Great,” where she profiled people and organizations doing positive things. It was through those tapings that she met people who helped her get involved with the community.
Active in the community, Tomazic worked as a volunteer at the Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center. Additionally, she worked as a coach for Girls on the Run. She looks forward to finding similar organizations to get involved in Pittsburgh.
