Kavanagh works for WTKR as a reporter for the afternoon and evening shows. After six years as a reporter for Central Florida News 13 in Orlando, half of which she spent in the Brevard County Bureau, Margaret relocates to News 3 from Orlando. In March 2015, Kavanagh started working for News 3.
While working as an NBC journalism intern in New York City, Margaret realized she wanted to work in the journalism industry. Her actual knowledge of what she wanted to do came from working closely with the breaking news, elections, and achievements sections. She had the chance to cover prominent cases such as the George Zimmerman trial, the Casey Anthony trial, and the conclusion of the space shuttle program.
In order to report on and prepare a 30-minute section on the country’s developments following the devastation of the great earthquake five years ago, Margaret also traveled to Haiti in 2014. Before joining News 13, Margaret spent three years as an evening anchor and reporter at KNDU-TV in the Tri-Cities, Washington. Margaret formerly served as the news director for WBCB in Levittown, Pennsylvania, before moving to the Tri-Cities.
The AM radio station is located in the county seat of Bucks. Because Merrill Reese, the team’s voice, is the general manager, this is where Margaret first fell in love with the Philadelphia Eagles. Hot yoga, running, cooking, the beach, craft beer, trying out new restaurants, traveling, and hanging out with her sister and their Bullmastiff, George, are some of Margaret’s favorite things.
