Thornton works for WBRC FOX6 as a traffic anchor for Good Day Alabama. Before joining the station in August 2020, Thornton worked as a news reporter for WALA Fox 10 News.
While finishing his undergraduate studies, he started his career in news as a Production Assistant at FOX8 WVUE in New Orleans. He worked as an intern for two semesters at WDSU (NBC) in New Orleans during his senior year.
In 2014, he began working as a reporter and Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) for KALB in Alexandria, Louisiana. At KADN News 15 in Lafayette, Louisiana, he served as a weekday FOX Anchor/MMJ in 2016. Toi departed Lafayette in 2017 for Mobile.
For three years, he worked as a reporter and MMJ at WALA FOX10 in Mobile, Alabama. Toi also served as an Adjunct Professor at Spring Hill College in Mobile, where she taught journalism.
Both the National Association of Black Journalists and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated are organizations that Toi belongs to.
Toi is happy to be in the Magic City despite his unwavering affection for his native country because of the culture, people, Mardi Gras, southern hospitality, and Saints. “WHO DAT??”
He wants to be accepted while also falling in love with Birmingham and all of its amazing residents. Make no mistake, he is still an LSU supporter even though he has lived in Alabama for the past three years. GEAUX TIGERS!
