At the time, he interviewed an instructor, whom he would later marry. They have two children, Avry and Briyana, as well as an English Cream Golden Retriever named Luke.

Bellis received his diploma from Centereach High School in New York before enrolling at Lycoming College. He played college football as a wide receiver for 2 years there and studied mechanical engineering before switching to atmospheric science. Bill Bellis Career
Bellis works as the chief meteorologist for KSNV News 3. He developed a love for the weather during his childhood. He also enjoyed skiing to the point of watching the Weather Channel so he could tell his parents where the best snow would occur. Later, he became so absorbed with skiing and weather that he would call the ski report for many of the resorts in Vermont. However, his parents’ weren’t very happy with him when the phone bill arrived in the mail because calling the ski report was not toll free.
After finishing his undergraduate studies, Bellis launched his career in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he spent nearly 18 months at KLFY. He then relocated to Houston, Texas, where he worked for KPRC as a weekend meteorologist. He then worked as the chief meteorologist at KNXV, ABC 15 in Phoenix, from 2003 to 2010. During this time, he broadcast hurricanes Isabel and Katrina and flew with the NOAA hurricane hunters over the Baja of California, where there was an ongoing study on the North American Monsoon.
In 2011, Bellis left KNXV for WFLD, FOX 32 Chicago, where he was the chief meteorologist until 2021. During his career, he has received 3 Emmys, including for Best Weathercast and Team Coverage for a rare Phoenix snow event in 2006 that brought nearly a foot of snow to Desert Mountain.
