He became involved with the original 1989 London production of Miss Saigon while he was still an engineering student in the Philippines. His producer friend in the film had asked him for help in facilitating an audition for the Cameron Mackintosh team holding the audition for Miss Saigon.
Aside from helping the in the auditions, he auditioned and became a member of the cast. He played the role of the Engineer after being involved with several touring productions as a swing and covering other roles. In 2014, he played the Engineer in the original cast of the Miss Saigon West End revival. For his role, he earned the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor nomination.
