Before launching her journalism career, Zuniga founded and managed With This Ring Wedding and Event Planning, a wedding and event planning company, for over a decade. She later gained an interest in sharing and writing stories after making regular guest appearances on a morning news show in Portland at KATU Channel 2, where she discussed wedding trends and planning.
Zuniga returned to school for her journalism degree, later securing her initial broadcast news job in Central Oregon at NewsChannel 21/NPG of Oregon. She started her tenure there as a news intern and was later promoted to reporter and weather producer. Not long after moving to Central Oregon, she underwent training to be a weather anchor fill-in. This made her realize that she loves the weather. She returned to school for her meteorology certification through Mississippi State University’s online program. She finished her time there as an evening weather anchor.
