Cattrall was born to Gladys Shane (née Baugh) and Dennis Cattrall. Shane worked as a secretary while Dennis worked as a construction engineer. Unfortunately, her brother named Christopher passed away in 2018 as a result of committing suicide. Also, she has one older sister and one younger sister.
When she was 3, her family migrated to Canada settling in Courtenay, British Columbia. Cattrall relocated back to Liverpool after her grandmother fell ill. Her grandfather, George Baugh abandoned his wife and three daughters counting Cattrall’s mother, and married a new wife.
With his new wife, he had 4 other children. Baugh relocated to Australia in 1961, assumed the role of a postmaster, retired in 1972, and passed away in Sydney in 1974.
