When he joined the station, he initially worked as a reporter. He held that role for 2 years before being promoted to the weekend weather anchor on FOX5 Weather 24/7 team while still reporting 3 days a week. Since March 2010, he has been the co-founder of Shine Family Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps the families of active military.
Krifaton has the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval, which recognizes his knowledge of and ability to explain weather. In addition, he holds a Commercial Pilot’s License and has ratings on four different aircraft. In 2011, he was inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Krifaton, a weather enthusiast, launched his broadcasting career in Canada. There, he served as one of the original on-camera weather presenters for The Weather Network in Canada in 1989 in Montreal. In 1993, he was assigned to launch and run the British Columbia Bureau in Vancouver, a position he held for 5 years. In January 1999, he moved to Toronto to anchor the Sea to Sea program. After spending nearly 15 years at the company, he moved to the United States. In addition, he has the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society Seal.
