While in Texas, Capper provided coverage for local, state, and county-wide government, including the 2020 presidential election. She received a key to the city because of her devotion to ethical journalism. From Texas, she relocated to Champaign, Illinois, where she spent almost 2 years as a weekend anchor and lead nightside reporter at WCIA.
