Since joining NBC4, Mendiola has made national appearances from 30 Rockefeller Center in New York for NBC’s TODAY and MSNBC. In this capacity, she provided coverage for Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Hurricane Joaquin, the historic Carolina Floods of 2015, and Hurricane Florence in 2018.
Mendiola enjoys chasing storms and is out in the elements all over Southern California with the NBC4 Weather Team in the NBC4x4Caster when she’s not in the studio. She developed a passion for science and technology at an early age when her mother, who worked as a nurse, inspired her passion for STEM fields.
Mendiola drew inspiration from watching TODAY’s Al Roker every morning while growing up. After completing her undergraduate studies, she kick-started her career in San Francisco.
