Jankoski works as the chief meteorologist for the NBC5 First Warning weather team. In this capacity, he leads a weather team that covers broad weather conditions across Vermont, northern New York, and parts of western New Hampshire. He airs during the weeknight newscasts at 5, 5:30, 6, 10, and 11 p.m.
Jankoski has worked as a meteorologist for almost a decade, most recently serving WVIT, Connecticut’s NBC-owned and- operated station. While in Connecticut, he thoroughly learnt how to read advanced weather radar in a fast-paced, competitive market. His career started at WGGB/WSHM, the ABC, CBS, and FOX affiliates broadcasting to the Pioneer Valley region of western Massachusetts.
Jankoski is an active member of the American Meteorological Society. He has received the organization’s distinction as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. Moreover, he has received multiple awards for his work both in meteorology and in the community. He has received awards such as the NBCUniversal GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award and the Little League Baseball East Region Director’s Award for Volunteer of the Year. The readers of Seven Days nominated him the “Best Local TV Personality” in Vermont.
Every summer since 2004, Jankoski has volunteered at the Little League Baseball East Region Tournament. He has a passion for volunteer work and loves public address announcing, along with all operational elements of the one-week event in early August.
