He has been a weather forecaster for about 30 years, covering everything from the hurricanes of south Texas to the lake effect snows of Michigan, the tornadoes of the Ohio Valley, and yes, the challenging weather of the Pacific Northwest.
Rod quickly received National Weather Association and American Meteorological Society endorsements. Later, he spent over five years as a member of the NWA certification board.
Since his 1999 relocation to the Pacific Northwest, Rod has received numerous awards for his prowess in forecasting and broadcasting. Three Associated Press awards for the best weathercast in Oregon and two Emmys for outstanding meteorologist are among his accomplishments in predicting.
