Myles was raised in the Chesapeake region, which has a wide range of meteorological conditions and seasonal variations. An ongoing scientific curiosity was developed by experiencing the (occasionally) extreme weather on the 757. Myles worked with the weather crew at WCAV, which received the Virginia Association of Broadcasters honorable award for the best weathercast.
