Before joining the station, he worked for KPXI as a weekend meteorologist. From 1990 to 1992, he worked in Santa Rosa at Channel 50 KFTY as a meteorologist. Before, that he served KRON NBC from 1988 to 1990.
During his career, he has broadcasted the Camp Fire in Paradise where the house he grew up in was destroyed, the Oakland Hills fires, the San Bruno gas fire, the earthquake in 1989, the Japanese tsunami, the Oroville Dam evacuations, and many local flooding.
