Foster works as a forecaster for KMBC’s First Alert Weather team at 5 a.m. and between 7 to 9 a.m. on weekends. She is excited to return home and honored to work at the station she grew up watching. Her career started when she relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, from Lawrence, Kansas, after graduating from college. In Lincoln, she worked as a meteorologist for KLKN-TV from May 2020 to June 2022. While there, she covered multiple weather topics such as the early stages of the Aug. 10, 2020, derecho.
Following her time in Lincoln, Foster relocated to Wichita, Kansas, to live closer to home. There, she worked as a meteorologist at KAKE for 2 and a half years before coming to KMBC 9 News. Additionally, she covered several stories, including dust storms, record heat, numerous tornadoes, several rounds of snow, storms that dropped baseball-sized hail, and a historic drought. Moreover, she had the chance to meet community members while covering events and giving school talks.
