He is a proficient weathercaster who delivers precise regional forecasts using Live Doppler 7 Max, the nation’s only S-band, dual-pole radar built for commercial use. This is his second tenure with WLS, as he served the station as the morning meteorologist from 2004 to 2005.
Before rejoining WLS, Mowry worked for KTVT, the CBS station in Dallas, Texas, as the chief meteorologist for its 5, 6, and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts from 2008 to 2016. He also served WKMG, the CBS station in Orlando, Florida, as a morning meteorologist between 2005 and 2008.
Mowry holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM)™ Seal from the American Meteorological Society. He is regarded as one of the country’s best severe weather broadcast meteorologists, given that he was live during many tornado warnings and showed numerous tornadoes live on air during his Dallas tenure.
